Longer and More Strenuous

Our Longer or More Strenuous walking breaks are usually over 6 miles but still described as leisure walks.
Some are extensions to walks within our easy/moderate category along the coast and countryside, some are in the Galloway Forest Park and others using parts of the Southern Upland Way walking route. They are suited to those who are fairly fit and would like to spend half a day or longer walking.
Some of these walks are way-marked and others, more rugged, can be walked by using of our Walking Information Sheets.
Many of ther walks have extension loops if you decide to walk a further distance on the day.
We also provide information on other things to see and do in an area either after your walk, including suggesting good tea rooms or pub lunch places at some point on your walk or at the end.

We have designed these daily walking routes to extend to Weekend Breaks, and 4 day and 7 day breaks. In each of these categories we can of course add an extra day or two if you desire.
